Auto-Parts Marketplace

The client runs an online marketplace for car parts across dozens of brands - a catalogue-heavy site where large data volumes and slow interactions were limiting growth. RemSoft.Dev took the full development cycle: analysing the legacy code, designing a new architecture, and implementing it. Over a year and a half, a team of eight rebuilt the platform on .NET with a DevOps pipeline, keeping the marketplace live throughout. The rebuilt site became noticeably faster to interact with, supported a larger user base, and ran on roughly a third of the previous infrastructure resources.

Key Challenges

Client: Car-parts marketplace, Lithuania

Duration: 1.5 years

Team: 8 - architect, team lead, 2 senior + 2 middle developers, PM, QA

Infrastructure: On-premise

The project faced several key challenges:

  • Large data, slow pages: A catalogue spanning many brands and parts generated heavy queries; the legacy code path could not be tuned further without changing the architecture.
  • Rebuild without a pause: The marketplace could not go dark. The new architecture had to be introduced alongside the existing one and switched over safely.
  • From legacy analysis to production: The work started with understanding code nobody documented - the analysis phase shaped the whole target design.

Results

  • Site architecture rebuilt from scratch
  • ~3× lower resource consumption
  • Faster user interaction
  • Larger user base served

reduction in resources used by the rebuilt platform.
