Automotive Services Platform

As part of the product's engineering organisation, RemSoft.Dev engineers contributed a steady stream of new features to a large automotive services platform. The system follows a microservices architecture for scalability, reliability and maintainability, runs on AWS cloud infrastructure, and ships through CI/CD practices that automate testing and delivery to a high quality bar - enforced with SonarQube. The team designed and implemented RESTful APIs in ASP.NET Core that expose functionality to other applications, built user interfaces in Svelte and React, and worked with EF Core on MySQL, collaborating closely with the client's architecture team on the best approaches and technologies for delivering customer value.

Key Challenges

Client: Automotive services company, USA

Engagement: Embedded in the client's product team

Stack: ASP.NET Core, Svelte, React, EF Core, MySQL, AWS

Tooling: GitHub Enterprise, SonarQube, Rally

The project faced several key challenges:

  • Working inside a large organisation: Enterprise processes, architecture boards and quality gates - the team had to deliver at the client's cadence and standards.
  • Microservices discipline: Every new feature had to respect service boundaries and contracts consumed by other applications.
  • Quality as a gate: SonarQube and automated pipelines meant nothing shipped that was not measurably clean.

Results

  • Continuous feature delivery
  • RESTful APIs consumed across the platform
  • Svelte + React UIs
  • AWS microservices with CI/CD

Microservices

scalable, reliable, maintainable - and respected.

CI/CD

automated testing and delivery on GitHub Enterprise.

Enterprise

standards met inside a large product organisation.
