Payment Gateway

RemSoft.Dev built a one-stop payment solution that lets websites and apps in Angola accept payments - for online and in-person retailers, subscription businesses, and software platforms. Over two years, a 10-person .NET team working in Scrum designed the gateway from the ground up, integrating with 25 banks and coordinating directly with business owners, analysts, QA, and the banks themselves. The result is a pioneering payment infrastructure for a market that previously had no unified way to accept digital payments.

Key Challenges

Client: Fintech startup, Angola

Duration: 2 years

Team: 10 people - 1 architect, 1 team lead, 2 senior + 4 middle developers, 1 PM, 1 QA

Infrastructure: Azure Cloud

The project faced several key challenges:

  • Twenty-five bank integrations, one API: Every bank exposed a different interface and settlement behaviour. The gateway had to present merchants with a single, stable API while absorbing that variety behind it.
  • A first-of-its-kind product for the market: There was no local reference implementation to follow. Requirements were shaped in close, continuous collaboration with the client's business owners, analysts and the partner banks.
  • Payments cannot be wrong: Transaction integrity, reconciliation and security had to be right from the first release - a payment platform earns trust once.

Results

  • Live payment infrastructure across 25 banks
  • Online, in-person, subscription and platform payments
  • Delivered by a 10-person dedicated .NET team
  • Runs on Azure Cloud
