Smart Agricultural Sensors

Field sensors and cloud analytics for data-driven farming - in development

Smart Agricultural Sensors is RemSoft.Dev's IoT product for optimising farming, currently in development. Sensor hubs placed in the field measure soil moisture, temperature, air humidity, soil acidity (pH), light and UV radiation. Readings travel through a coordinator node over LoRaWAN, LTE/3G or Bluetooth, with GPS positioning, to a cloud database server. A management layer processes and analyses the data, triggers alerts and presents the field's condition to the relevant specialists, who then decide the necessary actions for the day - fertilisation, acidity reduction or irrigation. The architecture follows the same sensor-hub → network → service → application layering we used in our water-quality IoT platform for utilities.

Features

  • Multi-sensor field hub
  • LoRaWAN / LTE / Bluetooth
  • GPS positioning
  • Cloud data processing
  • Alert system
  • Agronomist decision support

The Challenge

Product: Agricultural IoT platform

Status: In development

Layers: Sensor hub → network → service → application

What the product had to solve:

  • Sensing the whole field: Moisture, temperature, humidity, pH and UV together give a picture no single sensor can - the hub design integrates them all.
  • Connectivity where there is none: Fields lack Wi-Fi; LoRaWAN, LTE and Bluetooth options with GPS let hubs report from anywhere.
  • From data to a decision: The output is a recommended action for today, not a graph - the same principle as our water-utility analytics.

Results

  • Real-time field condition in the cloud
  • Daily action guidance for specialists
  • Built on proven IoT architecture

6 signals
